The suspect wanted for the fatal stabbing and an additional attack in unincorporated Whittier this past Tuesday was arrested for burglary and murder this morning by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department personnel.

84-year old Rolland Alexander was stabbed to death in his home in the 15300 block of Goodhue Avenue.

Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators have been working around the clock since learning of the incident on Tuesday according to a written statement.

The suspect is also believed to be connected to another assault of an elderly person in the Whittier area on the same day.

Investigators were assisted by numerous bureaus and stations within the Sheriff’s Department and law enforcement agencies throughout the Southern California area.

Tips from the public and other law enforcement agencies, along with surveillance footage that was recovered, led investigators to identify this suspect.

The name of the suspect is being withheld at this time pending further investigation and the case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office for filing considerations.
