We live in a cancel culture society here in the United States of America. Cancel culture thinking has infiltrated not only the public, but also our institutions of higher learning.

One of the most valuable traits that has been lost in this country is the issue of honor. Think of honor as a magnet. What I am about to say has the potential to put everything in your life back into order.

“What you honor comes to you and what you dishonor goes from you.” This fact will work in relationships, in your business endeavors, in your finances, in your politics, and everything else in your life. Let’s call it the principle of honor.

Let me re-state this principle as it has to do with relationships. “What you honor comes to you and what you dishonor goes from you.” I have a very beautiful wife whom I refer to as the “righteous fox” to my students at Impact University. We are both about to turn into octogenarians and have been married for forty years. We have nine children and at the moment, we are at sixty-five grandchildren, counting our great grandchildren.

When we married, we committed to honor each other for the rest of our lives. Because I honor her for what she has, it comes to me. As I give her respect, respect comes to me. I love the righteous fox and she loves me back. I give her security, and security comes to me. Most relationships break down when this principle of honor is lost. I do not want the righteous fox to go from me so I will continue to honor her as long as I live.

Now apply this principle to politics. The constitution of the United States is one of the most valuable documents ever devised by human hands. Our founding fathers were men of character and honor. They paid the price for the freedom we now enjoy. They risked everything to give us a document that would give us all the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Most of them never lived long enough to enjoy all the benefits of this document that we are now disrespecting.

Remember, “what you honor comes to you and what you dishonor goes from you.” If we continue dishonoring our constitution its’ benefits will soon go from us and we will have to face the tyranny of unprincipled men that our founding fathers emancipated us from.
