The La Mirada Blog receives countless messages throughout the year about vehicle burglaries, break-ins, etc. through our many message sources including our e-mail, text, voice-mail, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. We are unable to report all the messages and reports we get, simply due to time constraints and lack of resources, but we have definitely noticed a substantial increase in crime-related messages and reports being sent to us.

We remind residents it is more important than ever to say vigilant and always lock your vehicles, even in your own neighborhood. Even then, thieves are smashing windows, so do not leave any objects in your vehicle that are visible that may entice a thief. Check our “visitor posts” on our Facebook page to view resident-reported crime.

As always, call the Sheriff’s Department if you see any suspicious activity anytime at (562) 863-8711.

Residents also might want to inquire about joining the City’s Neighborhood Watch program to get more involved in keeping our streets safe.
