Seven of the eight will continue to play ball in some form or another, with many obtaining full scholarships.

"That's part of our goal," said Trujillo, "The girls must maintain a 3.0 GPA or better. Of course, this group, they are all in the 3.8 and 4.0 range."

Sablay will attend school and play for Delaware State University; Hickman will play for Towson State University, and Skogen for Eastern Arizona College.

Perez, Macahilig, and Gomez will stay local, playing at Chapman University, Cypress, and Cerritos respectfully, with Rivas still undecided.

Rabecca Rice is "retiring" from softball and will be attending Concorde Career College.

La Mirada Softball has won 10 of the last 11 Suburban League championships reaching the semi-finals this season, and the finals last season. They were also CIF finalists in 2003 and 2004.

Also, The All-CIF Southern Section softball teams for 2012 were announced on Tuesday and La Mirada's Lisa Perez was chosen.

Trujillo pointed out the closeness of the group, "Most importantly, these girls have developed lifelong friendships-they're respectful of each other. You can see it in the way they interact. They are a real team and truly care about each other."
