Spring Awakening will preview on Thursday, March 21, 2013 and runs through Saturday, March 30, 2013, live “On Stage” at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Performances will be 7:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays; 8pm on Fridays; 2pm and 8:00pm on Saturday, March 23 and 7pm and 10:30pm on Saturday, March 30; and 2pm and 7pm on Sundays.

ABOUT THE CREATIVE TEAM

BRIAN KITE (Director) has directed across the United States and abroad. He is the Producing Artistic Director at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts where his credits include the critically acclaimed productions of Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Dinner With Friends, Steel Magnolias starring Cathy Rigby, Driving Miss Daisy starring Michael Learned and David Auburn’s Proof. He recently helmed the National Tour of Pride & Prejudice for L.A. Theatre Works, a production of Cabaret in Bermuda under the patronage of the Queen’s Governor and directed a production of Tennessee Williams’ The Glass Menagerie at The Actors Co-op in Hollywood. Before that he directed two Los Angeles revivals, J.B. by Archibald MacLeish and The Crucible by Arthur Miller, and the West Coast premiere of Václav Havel’s The Beggar’s Opera. He directed the Philadelphia production of Glenn Wein’s Grandma Sylvia’s Funeral and worked with Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan on The Geffen Playhouse’s production of Hedda Gabler starring Annette Bening. He directed over 20 productions at French Woods Festival in New York where he was the Director of Theater Programs for over 7 years. Brian is currently a member of the directing faculty at U.C.L.A.’s School of Theater, Film and Television, serves as the Chair of the LA Stage Alliance’s Board of Governors, and is the Artistic Director of the award-winning Buffalo Night’s Theatre Company.

DANA SOLIMANDO (Choreographer) Credits include: Miss Saigon, South Street (Pasadena Playhouse) All Shook Up (3-D Theatricals), Little Shop of Horrors (McCoy Rigby Ent), Swing! (2004 & 2006 Ovation award), Jesus Christ Superstar, Nat’l tour starring the late Carl Anderson (NAACP Theatre Award nomination), Oliver!, Buddy, and Too Old for the Chorus. She is also a Director/Choreographer for Crystal Cruise Lines and recently mounted two new shows for the company (I Write The Songs & Route 66).  Dana has also directed & choreographed numerous productions of Cats (the show in which she made her Broadway debut). As a performer, she played the role of Tiger Lily with Cathy Rigby on the Broadway/National Tour as well as the A&E video. Other Broadway credits include Cats (Rumpleteazer) & SWING! Nat’l tours and regional productions including Sugar Babies, Grease (Cha Cha), Oklahoma, Gypsy, Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Jesus Christ Superstar, A Chorus Line as well as performing on the “Today Show,” VH-1 and MTV.

JOHN GLAUDINI (Musical Director) As Musical Director: for McCoy/Rigby-- Miss Saigon; for Musical Theatre West-- Spamalot, Sweeney Todd (Ovation award), Altar Boyz (LA Drama Critics Circle nom), Andrews Brothers (Ovation Award nom), I Love A Piano; For Musical Theatre Guild-- Aspects Of Love, Street Scene; . As arranger/orchestrator: Heaven Help Us (Florida Stage; Denver Center), The Prince and The  Pauper (Lamb’s Theatre NYC), I Love A Piano (Denver Center,  Florida Stage), Pete ‘n’ Keely (John Houseman NYC). He co-wrote the revues, Are We There Yet?A Christmas Survival Guide, and I Love New York (NY Bistro Award-Best Revue) which are published in several musical theatre catalogues. He is currently a music consultant for the Disney Resorts in California. His career began assisting composer Stephen Flaherty on the shows Lucky Stiff, Ragtime, Seussical,and worked on the first productions of Broadway’s 9 To 5 (LA), Legally Blonde (San Francisco), Spamalot (Chicago), Bounce (Washington D.C), and A New Brain (NYC).
