The Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the City of La Mirada, and the TreePeople organization will be distributing fruit trees to La Mirada residents as part of the I-5 freeway widening project. 

Trees will be limited, and residents will be able to choose from apple, peach, and apricot trees. Fruit trees provide fresh food, clean air, and enhances the beauty of the community.

The event will take place Saturday, April 9 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the La Mirada Civic Center in front of Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center, located at 13806 La Mirada Boulevard. 

For registered pick-ups, residents must arrive between 8 to 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., residents can pick-up a tree on a first come, first-serve basis while supplies last. Limit of one tree per household.
