La Mirada~The City has begun completing major improvements to Alicante Road from La Mirada Boulevard to Santa Gertrudes Avenue.  The work includes resurfacing of asphalt pavement, reconstruction of various pavement sections, replacement of damaged curb, gutter and sidewalk, and the installation of curb access ramps.  This project is being completed through funds obtained from State proceeds.

Access to Alicante Road will be limited to residents during periods of construction, which is expected to continue through October 2009. The Civic Center, Splash! and Community Gymnasium may be accessed through La Mirada Boulevard.

Alicante Road serves as a collector road, and is used by motorists traveling to La Mirada High School, the Civic Center, La Mirada Golf Course, and Regional Park.  For more information on this project, call the City's Public Works Department at (562) 902-2385.
