Mayfair loses to Norwalk, tightening up the league race
Norwalk~Josh Siemens scored 20 points, Isaac Luatua had 13 and Michael Davis added 12 as the La Mirada boys basketball team routed the Eagles of John Glenn tonight 69-45 in a Suburban League contest
.
Luatua and Conner Gillete each had nine rebounds to lead the Mats. Gillette, the leading scorer for the Matadores at 18 points a game, relinquished the scoring load to his teammates against the over-matched Eagles (1-14, 0-7), scoring just five points.
La Mirada (10-12, 4-3), lead after the first quarter, 17-4, and never looked back.
Right now In the Suburban League with five games left, it appears Mayfair, Artesia, and Cerritos will be in the playoffs with La Mirada and Norwalk battling for the final spot. But, a lot of basketball to be played yet.
In other Suburban League action tonight: Norwalk (11-11, 4-3), beat Mayfair 46-45, handing the Monsoons (13-8, 6-1), their first league loss of the season.
